HR Dashboard Widgets

Learn about the HR Dashboard widgets available in Workforce, including employee headcount, new starters, turnover, incidents, leave, compliance, training, and HR activity metrics.


About widgets

Widgets are the panels that make up your dashboard. Each widget displays a different HR metric, allowing you to quickly monitor employee activity, compliance, workforce trends, and outstanding actions.

The menu button in the top-right corner of each widget provides additional options, including:

  • Changing date ranges

  • Filtering by team or location

  • Selecting chart views

  • Opening related reports

To customise your dashboard:

  1. Open the dashboard menu.

  2. Select Customise.

  3. Move widgets into your preferred layout.

  4. Resize widgets.

  5. Hide widgets you don't need.

💡 Tip: Customise your dashboard to keep the HR metrics most relevant to your role visible at all times.


Employee Overview Widgets

Total Active Employees

Shows the total number of active employees.

What you'll see

  • The current number of active employees.

Available actions

  • View Employee Report → Opens the full employee list.

Who can see this widget?

Users with HR Manager access.


Headcount Over Time

Shows how employee numbers have changed over time.

What you'll see

  • Employee headcount trends across the selected period.

  • Current employee count and change since the start of the period.

Available actions

  • View Headcount Report → Opens the headcount report.

Who can see this widget?

Users with HR Manager access.


Positions

Shows a breakdown of employees by position.

What you'll see

  • Active employees grouped by their current position.

  • Smaller position groups combined into an "Other" category.

Available actions

  • View Employee Report → Opens the full employee list.

Who can see this widget?

Users with HR Manager access.


Employment Type Breakdown

Shows a breakdown of employees by employment type.

What you'll see

  • Employees grouped by employment type.

  • Employees without a recognised employment type shown as "Unclassified".

Available actions

  • View Employee Report → Opens the full employee list.

Users with HR Manager access.


Tenure Breakdown

Shows how long employees have been with your organisation.

What you'll see

Employees grouped by tenure:

  • Under 6 months

  • 6 months to 1 year

  • 1 to 2 years

  • 2 to 5 years

  • 5+ years

HR Activity

Shows recent HR activity across your organisation.

What you'll see

Recent activity such as:

  • New starters

  • Incidents

  • Training

Shows outstanding HR tasks requiring attention.

Employee Lifecycle Widgets

New Starts (Last 30 Days)

Shows how many employees started within the last 30 days.

What you'll see

  • The number of employees whose start date falls within the last 30 days.

Available actions

  • View Recent Commencements Report → Opens the recent commencements report.

Who can see this widget?

Users with HR Manager access.


Employees on Probation

Shows how many employees are currently within their probation period.

What you'll see

  • Employees who started within the configured probation period.

Available actions

  • View Recent Commencements Report → Opens the recent commencements report.

Terminations (Last 30 Days)

Shows how many employees have left within the last 30 days.

What you'll see

  • The number of employees whose end date falls within the last 30 days.

New Starters vs Leavers

Compares employee commencements and departures over time.

What you'll see

  • New starters and leavers displayed side-by-side across the selected period.

Turnover Rate

Shows employee turnover as a percentage.

What you'll see

  • Monthly turnover rates across the selected period.

  • Average turnover rate.

  • Comparison against the previous period.

Termination Reasons

Shows a breakdown of employee departures by reason.

What you'll see

  • Departures grouped by termination reason.

  • Employees without a recorded reason shown as "Not specified".

Compliance & Development Widgets

Qualifications Expiring

Shows qualifications that have expired or are due to expire.

What you'll see

  • Expired qualifications.

  • Qualifications expiring within 30 days.

  • Qualifications expiring within 90 days.

  • Qualifications expiring within 6 months.

Available actions

  • View Qualifications → Opens the qualifications report.

Training Expiring

Shows training records that have expired or are due to expire.

What you'll see

  • Expired training.

  • Training expiring within 30 days.

Leave Requests

Shows recent leave requests by leave type.

What you'll see

  • Leave requests submitted within the last 30 days grouped by leave type.

Users who can update leave request status.


Incidents (Last 30 Days)

Shows how many incidents have been reported within the last 30 days.

What you'll see

  • Total incidents recorded during the last 30 days.

Available actions

  • View Incident Report → Opens the incident report.

Users who can manage incidents.


Incident Reasons

Shows a breakdown of incidents by category.

What you'll see

  • Incidents grouped by category across the selected period.

Available actions

  • View Incident Report → Opens the incident report.

Daily Operations Widget

Daily Operations

Shows operational alerts for the current day.

What you'll see

Attendance alerts and labour cost alerts grouped into separate tabs.

Cost alerts may include:

  • Scheduled labour cost

  • Labour hours

  • Wage % Revenue

  • Sales Per Labour Hour

📝 Important to note: Cost alerts are only visible to users who can view wage information.

FAQs and Troubleshooting

Why can't I see some HR widgets?

Widget visibility depends on your permissions. Some widgets require HR Manager access, while others require additional permissions such as incident management or leave approvals.

Why are qualification or training widgets empty?

These widgets only display records that are expired or approaching expiry.

Why can't I open linked reports?

You may not have permission to access the report associated with the widget.

Why is the headcount different from previous periods?

Headcount changes as employees start, leave, or are reactivated during the selected period.
