Managed Content Library

This guide explains how to enable and manage Managed Content Library, which provides access to training content from Sideways directly within Workforce Training.

This feature is available for users who have enabled Workforce HR and the Managed Content Library paid feature via feature management.


What is Managed Content Library

The Managed Content Library gives organisations access to a curated set of regulatory and compliance training courses provided by Sideways.

These courses are commonly required in hospitality and QSR environments, including food safety, health, and workplace compliance training.

Sideways content is integrated directly into the Workforce Training module, allowing employees to complete training without needing access to a separate learning management system (LMS).


Included Courses

The feature includes:

  • First Aid

  • Food Safety Level 1

  • Food Safety Level 2

  • GDPR

  • Health & Safety Levels 1 & 2

  • Inspection Ready

  • Life Skills Before Knife Skills

  • Responsible Alcohol Sales

  • Workers Protection Act

Each course includes:

  • Hosted video modules

  • Multiple-choice questions

  • Pass rates

  • Start/finish tracking

  • Automatic progress saving


Enable Managed Content Library

To enable Managed Content Library:

  1. Navigate Settings > Feature Management > Scroll to Managed Content Library > Select 'Enable'

Once enabled:

  1. Billing will activate automatically via your HR plan

  2. Courses will appear in the Training section of Workforce HR


Where to Find Training Content

After Managed Content Library is enabled:

  • All Sideways courses appear under HR > Training > Content Library

  • Employees will see their assigned courses in My Training on desktop and mobile app

  • Admins can view the full Sideways course library from HR > Training > Content Library

  • Training logs, scores and completion history are stored under HR > All Trainings

Note: All courses are fully hosted within Workforce, so there is no need to access an external LMS.


Assign Training to Employees

Once enabled, admins can assign training templates:

  1. Navigate to HR > Training > Content Library > Assign selected template.

Managed Content Library courses are read-only to ensure training content remains compliant and consistent.


Billing

Managed Content Library is a paid add-on available to customers using Workforce HR.

Once enabled, a supplementary charge of £2.50 per user applies.

  • Charges are calculated monthly based on the total number of billable users.

  • Billing appears as a separate line item on your monthly Workforce invoice.

If you are on an annual Workforce HR subscription, Managed Content Library charges are still billed monthly and are not included in the upfront annual fee.

Billing begins as soon as Managed Content Library is enabled via Feature Management.


Frequently Asked Questions

Can employees resume training later?

YYes. Progress is saved automatically, allowing employees to return to training at any time.

Can we edit training content?

No. Managed Content Library courses are read-only to maintain compliance standards.

Does training data sync back to Sideways?

Training completion and progress are tracked within Workforce.
