Leave and Unavailability Requests
Employees can submit leave and unavailability through the Workforce.com Mobile App or online at my.workforce.com.
Leave → request specific periods of time off (e.g. Holiday, Sick Leave). A request is required for each separate period.
Unavailability → record times you cannot work. These can repeat weekly (e.g. every Tuesday afternoon) or be set for a date range.
Submit a Leave Request
On the mobile app
Open the app and tap the Action Menu.
Select Leave & Availability.
Tap the + in the top right corner.
Complete your request:
Choose One day or Multiple days.
Enter the date(s). Past dates can be entered as long as they are after your start date.
Select a Leave Type.
Choose All day or specify a time range (Between the hours of…).
(Optional) Add a reason for leave.
(Optional) Edit the estimated hours if different from the suggested total.
(Optional) Upload attachments (e.g. medical certificate).
Tap Submit. Your manager will be notified.
Check the Leave page in the app to track approval status.
In a web browser
Log in to my.workforce.com.
Go to Leave > Requests.
Click + New Leave Request (top right).
Choose Leave and follow the same steps as above.
Submit an Unavailability Request
On the mobile app
Open the app and tap the Action Menu.
Select Leave & Availability.
Tap the + in the top right corner.
Complete your request:
Choose whether it is a one-off or repeats weekly.
Enter the date(s) or weekly pattern.
Select All day or Between the hours of…, then set times.
If repeating weekly, choose whether it repeats indefinitely or only within set dates (e.g. semester dates).
Enter a Reason (required).
Tap Submit. Your manager will be notified.
Check back in the app to see the request status.
In a web browser
Log in to my.workforce.com.
Go to Leave > Requests.
Click + New Leave Request (top right).
Select Unavailability and follow the same steps as above.
Prevent Staff from Requesting Unavailability
You can restrict whether staff are allowed to submit unavailability requests.
Leave Settings → Go to Settings > Leave Settings and review the unavailability permissions.
Permission Settings → Go to Settings > Permissions and check:
The option to allow unavailability requests.
Under Advanced Settings > Customise Access & Roles, you can refine unavailability permissions further.
