To create a maternity leave type that complies with UK regulations, follow these steps:
Go to the Time and Attendance section on Workforce.com, then select Compliance and choose Leave Types
Click on + New Leave Type and enter Maternity Leave (1-6 weeks) as the desired leave type. Set the leave to apply to "All Staff" and "Every Day (including Bank Holidays)"
Under Costing Configuration, set the pay rate multiplier to 0.9
Under Advanced Settings, click on Prevent leave requests for this leave type
Save the leave type.
Then, make sure to create one more leave type for Maternity Leave (7-39 weeks):
Go to the Time and Attendance section on Workforce.com, then select Compliance and choose Leave Types.
Click on + New Leave Type and enter Maternity Leave (1-6 weeks) as the desired leave type. Set the leave to apply to All Staff and Every Day (including Bank Holidays).
Under Costing Configuration, set the pay rate multiplier to 0.9.
Under Advanced Settings, click on Prevent leave requests for this leave type.
Save the leave type.
After completing the previous steps, create an allowance:
Go to the Time and Attendance section, then select Compliance and choose Manage Allowances. Click on + New Allowance and follow the steps below:
Name the allowance: "Maternity Leave (7-39 weeks) Costing."
Link to your payroll system:
Export Name: "Maternity Leave (7-39 weeks) Days."What type of allowance?: "Automatic."
Who will it apply to?: "All staff."
What day(s) will it apply to?: "Every Day."
What type of hours will it apply to?: "All hours."
What time will it apply?: "All hours of the shift."
Which shifts will it apply to?: "All shifts."
Then click on "Apply allowance to leave as well," scroll down, and apply the classification tag **"Maternity Leave (7-39 weeks)," the tag must match the exact name of the earnings rule.How will it be paid during the shift?: "Once per day."
What rate is it paid at?: "Specific Cost" $36.806 (Statutory Maternity Pay:£184.03 / 5 days a week).
Finally, create the allowance.
Once you have completed all of these steps, navigate to Time & Attendance > Leave > New Time Off Request > Leave > Create a new leave request for Maternity leave.
