Time Clock: Kiosk Mode

Enable and disable kiosk mode on the Time Clock

iPad: use Guided Access

On iPads, use Apple's Guided Access to keep the tablet on the Time Clock App.

Turn on Guided Access

  1. Open the iPad's Settings app.

  2. Go to Accessibility → Guided Access and turn on Guided Access.

  3. Tap Passcode Settings → Set Guided Access Passcode and choose a passcode. You'll need it to exit Guided Access.

Start Guided Access

  1. Open the Time Clock App.

  2. Triple-click the top button (iPads without a home button) or the home button (iPads with one).

  3. Tap Start.

Stop Guided Access

  1. Triple-click the top or home button, enter your Guided Access passcode, then tap End.

Android: use Kiosk Mode

On Android tablets, Kiosk Mode shows the Time Clock App full-screen and hides the home and navigation buttons.

Set the Time Clock App as the default home app

The Time Clock App can be set as the tablet's default home app. When it is, pressing the Home button opens the Time Clock instead of leaving it. You can change this at any time in the tablet's app settings.

Turn on Kiosk Mode

  1. Make sure the Time Clock App is up to date in the Google Play Store.

  2. Enter an admin's passcode on the time clock.

  3. Tap the Settings button.

  4. Tap Settings.

  5. Tap Feature Management.

  6. Turn on Kiosk Mode and tap Save.

Turn off Kiosk Mode

Follow the same steps, turn off Kiosk Mode and tap Save.

Enable Kiosk Mode

  1. 1. Make sure you have at least version 4.3.25 or above downloaded from the Play Store

    2. Passcode into the Time Clock as an Admin

    3. Tap the Settings button

Check your Time Clock App version

  1. Log in at my.workforce.com.

  2. Go to Settings → Time Clocks.

  3. Check the App Version column for each time clock.

💡 Tip: Turn on automatic app updates on your tablet so the Time Clock App is always up to date.

FAQs

Can I use Kiosk Mode on an iPad?

No. Kiosk Mode is for Android tablets only. On iPads, use Apple's Guided Access instead.

Who can turn Kiosk Mode on or off?

  1. On the time clock tablet, enter an admin's passcode.

  2. In the Time Clock App, tap Settings, then Settings again.

  3. Tap Feature Management.

  4. Turn on Kiosk Mode and tap Save.

I can't see Kiosk Mode in Feature Management.

Update the Time Clock App from the Google Play Store. You can check each time clock's version in the App Version column on Settings → Time Clocks.

How do I get out of Kiosk Mode to change the tablet's settings?

Enter an admin's passcode on the time clock, go to Settings → Settings → Feature Management, turn off Kiosk Mode and tap Save. Turn it back on when you're done.

I've forgotten my Guided Access passcode.

Can employees still clock in while Kiosk Mode or Guided Access is on?

Yes. Both only stop the tablet leaving the Time Clock App. Employees clock in as usual.

Should I leave automatic updates on?

Yes. Turn on automatic app updates so the Time Clock App stays up to date.
