Tags are a way to connect staff with specific rules. By assigning staff with the appropriate tags, you'll be able to classify your staff and ensure the right rules match the right staff.
What's covered in this guide?
How to use tags
Earnings, or classification, tags can help you differentiate staff members and have different rules apply to them, based on their tags. These can be:
Salaried
Hourly
Overtime Pay
Higher rate (someone who has a different rate when working in another department)
Anything else your workforce may require
Once you've created tags, you'd need to apply them to your staff. You can apply tags individually or in bulk.
Create and manage tags
You can create new tags and manage existing ones.
To create a tag:
Go to Time & Attendance > Compliance > Classification Tags > Manage:
Enter your tag in the Create a new earnings tag space and click on the green + sign
To manage an existing tag:
Go to Time & Attendance > Compliance > Classification Tags > Manage:
To rename: click on the tag name
To delete: click Delete
Individually tag staff
You can individually tag staff within a staff profile.
To assign tags to a staff member:
Navigate to the Pay Conditions tab through Workforce > Staff > Employee name
Select Edit Current Pay Conditions
Select βFrom Start of Current Pay Cycleβ OR "From Start of Previous Pay Cycle"
Select tags from the dropdown menu under Additional tags
Bulk actions/bulk tag
You can take several bulk actions to manage your staff easier. These actions include:

Remove Teams/Tags
Deactivate Staff
Backfill Employee legal names
To get to Bulk actions, go to Workforce > Staff > Tools > Bulk actions:
Step 1 - Select staff to apply changes to

Step 2 - Select an action
Add Teams/Tags: Add teams/tags to staff in bulk. E.g "Move X staff to Y team"
Remove Teams/Tags: Remove teams/tags from staff in bulk. E.g "Remove the Casual tag from X staff"
Deactivate Staff: Deactivate selected staff in bulk. Doing so will automatically set the current day as the 'employment end date' on the staff profile.
Backfill Employee legal names: This will backfill the legal names of the selected staff with their preferred names. Everything but the last part of any name will become the legal first name, and the final part of the name will become the legal last name. For example, "John James Smith" will become "John James" and "Smith".
Step 3 (for Teams/Tags) - Select fields to add/remove
Primary teams: Add staff in bulk to a whole team/location
Secondary teams: Add staff in bulk to a secondary team/location (must be enabled in rota settings)
